1. Get Organized
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will need to:
2. Submit the FAFSA The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov , You may submit your FAFSA as early as October 1st.
- Complete all sections about you, your school plans, and financial information.
- Indicate WCCCD using our school code: 009230.
- Provide your electronic signature (PIN). If you are a dependent student, do not forget to include your parent's PIN or your FAFSA will be rejected.
- Submit your information.
- Print out and keep a copy of your submitted information for your records.
3. FAFSA Status
Here is what happens after you file the FAFSA:
- You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Check it for accuracy and follow up on any requests for additional information
- Your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is calculated from information you provided on the FAFSA and is listed on your SAR. The EFC is the amount your family is expected to contribute to your education for the upcoming year.
- If you have special or extraordinary circumstances notify the District Financial Aid office in writing.
- Read and follow all instructions.
- Check WEB GATE for your financial aid status.
